A little bit about me…

Hi, I’m Gill!

I’ve been studying, working and taking part in sport and exercise for the past 20 years. Prior to my level 3 qualification in Personal Training with Pre and Post Natal, I studied sport and exercise science at university (BSc) before then working in the sports events industry for 15 years. I have also been a National level track athlete and keen triathlete. It’s fair to say that I’ve always been fascinated by how the body moves and what it’s capable of!

However, it wasn’t until the birth of my two girls that I had a new appreciation of my body as a female and the adaptations that occur during pregnancy, child-birth and the often forgotten 4th trimester, the postnatal period. Becoming a mum also changed how I exercised. With the ability to spontaneously disappear for a run or swim no longer possible, and having never been a big fan of the gym environment, I started working out at home. I quickly fell in love with the idea of being able to use whatever time and/or equipment there was available to create effective workouts!

It was during this time that I discovered an amazing amount of conflicting information out there about what is and isn’t safe during the postnatal period. I’ve since made it my mission to become educated on the subject and to help others who are also feeling a bit lost as to where to start and how, which leads me to where I am today.

Gill is just brilliant. I cannot recommend her PT sessions highly enough.

“The effort that she put in to assessing what level I was when we started our sessions; and then helping me progress over the time, as well as considering what exercises would help with my separated stomach muscles and develop my strength each week was very impressive and noticeable.

Her enthusiasm is infectious and even if I started a class feeling slightly jaded or exhausted from lack of sleep (thanks to my little one), without exception, I felt alive & strong after each session and more like my old self than I had in a long time.

Gill designed a course that was specific for me and I could feel and see the improvements as the weeks passed.

Honestly, if you are keen to kick start feeling strong, fit or even just a bit more human and like your old self then Gill will be able to help you achieve that. She is also very tolerant of having a little one interrupt the sessions in various ways.”
